KATE BELVEDERE
Morses Court, Tawonga South
“I long for the sincerity of painting friends and family with an unguarded intimacy. Something domestic, vulnerable and authentic.”
Kate is a figurative oil painter, drawn to painting those closest to her. She uses colourful layers of paint to create work that reflects the mood of her sitter. Drawing inspiration from artists such as Pierre Bonnard, Marlene Dumas and Paula Rego, her works are sensitive portrayals of deeply felt moments.
After completing her Bachelor of Fine Arts at the Victorian College of the Arts, she has been named a finalist in numerous awards, including the Adelaide Perry Prize and the Lloyd Rees Youth Art Award. In 2025, she completed a residency at L'appartamento in Naples, Italy, and was listed in Art Edit magazine's 'One's to Watch' feature
